A modest proposal
When I was cleaning out my spam folder on my gmail account, I was presented with a link to a related web site.
Savory Spam Crescents
This is taking context-sensitive, anonymous marketing just one step too far, don't you think? Although it did make me smile.

i made these for suomies, he rates them a "10"
if it truly is our rationality that separates us from the animals, tell me the rationale behind the creation, not to mention INGESTION, of spam
as far as the product itself, all i can say is god bless america
It can only be compared to other products ostensibly created for lengthy preservation of otherwise perishable meatstuffs, Lutefisk as another example coming most readily to mind although dried meat or fish products seem to exist in a number of cuisines all over the world.
This could also be the reason why Suomies is rumored to be a big fan of both...
spam is the meat product everlasting. is ingesting it the key to life everlasting?
it's a cultural thing. it is probably no less noxious than the typical american fast-food chain burger, spaghettios, or (added for seasonal relevance) corned beef. the people in said cultures are on average less fat and more fit than most americans. don't knock it 'til you've tried it. down with food prejudice!
oh and it is supposed to be cooked by the way.
I hope you are not attributing salvific powers to a tin of Spam (I believe it is a trademark and as such, should be capitalized)... but perhaps you have seen the Virgin Mary Cheese Sandwich?
no, i am not. i am more wondering if spam pickles you from your insides out.
and no, i had not, until you prompted me to do so.
and most of the time i capitalize only for deity, emphasis, or acronyms.
Please feel Free to capitalize or to Not, as you see fit. As indeed you clearly do.
Also, upon reflection, I decided that mentioning the existence of other highly salted preserved meatforms (of which neither spaghetti-o's nor corned beef is an example and I'm not so sure about the fast-food burger either) constitutes food prejudice.
In conclusion, thanks for your visit to and interaction with my spam. I mean my blog.
aha. but you see, i didn't say all these foods fall into the same category at all. is that what you're saying?
for generalizations and prejudices are different creatures...
besides— and most importantly— i would eat them all. all the foods, that is. because i can. and that, ms. alleycat, is the very essence of fighting food prejudice.
in conclusion, comments from strangers on one's blog adds a certain extra dimension to the blog experience. kinda like the gelatinous goo on the outside of the spam. i am happy to provide this extra dimension. welcome to the blogosphere.
